How to use a Cherry Cup

1. Prior to initial use, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Do not allow the cup to touch the bottom of the cup, as this can burn or melt it.

2. Thoroughly wash your hands and then the cup with warm potable water and mild unscented soap. Be sure that the 4 holes under the rim are clean. For additional sanitation, you may sterilize the cup prior to monthly use.

3. Use either a “C” or a “Punch down” fold. Try both methods or experiment with other folds in order to find the best method for you.

4. In a relaxed position, such as sitting on the toilet or squatting in the shower, slide the folded cup into your vagina positioned that it is angled towards your tailbone and the stem is within 1/2 inch of your vaginal opening and release.

5. Rotate the cup to ensure that it is completely open and has a good seal against the vaginal walls. You may also flex your vaginal muscles to aid in the positioning of the cup. Once comfortably positioned you should not feel anything else.

6. Work hard and play harder! Enjoy up to 12 hours of comfort, with odor free and worry free protection. Be sure to empty and clean the cup at least twice daily.

7. Wash your hands in warm soapy water. Find the stem with your thumb and index finger. Pinch the grooved area above the stem to release suction. Remove slowly to minimize spill. Empty into the toilet and repeat the steps.

8. When your period has ended; sterilize the cup by boiling for 3-5 minutes, allow cup to dry and place cup in the storage bag for use the next month.

  • At the end of the menstrual period, sterilize the cup with sterilization tablets. Place the sterilization tablets in a container of tap water. Sterilize the cup for 15 minutes. Allow the cup to dry thoroughly after sterilization.
